Mira's becoming a toddler in all the different ways. She's becoming more and more independent; she wants to climb stairs, take things off shelves and drawers and put them in her own special places, talk and point and use sign language to tell us what she wants, and then there's the tantrums. She does throw small tantrums that only last 10-15 seconds or so, thank god. They usually stem from her not getting her way of course.
We've now reached the "mall ride" stage.
We've reached the "restaurant kids menu" stage. We usually just go with chicken and green beans.
Mira's second Easter. I put out her easter basket that night (and hid some Easter eggs filled with graham cracker bunnies) not expecting her to notice the next morning, but when she woke up and ran out to the living room, the first thing she did was go straight for the basket and take everything out. She even found a couple eggs. I was so impressed with her! She got a couple books, sippy cup, more moccasins, and Frozen. My parents got her a bunch of clothes, an adorable bunny shaped sippy cup, and an Easter lunch tray and Adam's parents got her bubbles, sidewalk chalk, crayons, and a coloring book. It was a good Easter all in all.
She no longer will sit in the baby seat of the shopping cart. She immediately gets up and stands on it. So we let her run around and pretend she's a big person :)
Still so in love with my passed-out-milk-drunk baby. I'm packing away my breastpump until the next kid someday, but still nursing Mira nights and weekends and it's p e r f e c t. I hated dragging that pesky pump to work everyday and it just consumed a lot of time.
On the subject of cutting down nursing, I've gained ten pounds in the last 2 months. Sigh... But I honestly credit it to my new job where I sit on my butt the whole time. I've obviously had office jobs before, but this one takes the cake for sitting periods. All my meetings and coworker correspondence is done on the computer so the only reason I have to get up from my desk is my breaks.
Booooo to that. Guess I'll just have to start pushing myself harder at the gym.
Lastly, pictures of Mira over the weekend. My parents were in town for my sister's hockey tournament and got a hotel so Mira got to go in a pool for the first time. She wasn't too sure of it, probably because the water temp was a little cold for her liking. I hope she likes the lake this summer :) Can't wait for that!
